Hello, I am the PR person for Unagi Okafuji. I am the PR person in charge of eel, Okafuji.

The summer heat has begun early, and I hope everyone is feeling better.

This year, the period from July 20 to August 6 is the "Doyou" period, which marks the change of seasons.
And there are two days during this period that fall on Ox days [July 20] and [August 1].

Since ancient times, it has been customary in Japan to eat eel on "Doyo no Ushi" (day of the ox in the summer).
Although there are many theories as to its origin, it seems to have the meaning of preventing summer fatigue and nourishing one's energy to get through the summer.

The course at Okafuji can be enjoyed not only in the evening but also in the afternoon.
For the main course, we offer "small eel hitsu-mabushi", which can be enjoyed twice by first eating it as it is and then mixing it with condiments and tea broth.

One of the most attractive features of our courses is the number of items served, such as sashimi and chawan-mushi (steamed rice in a bowl) made from fresh seafood.
Please use it for a lunch meeting with your good friends or a dinner with your colleagues after work.
